Abortion is not MURDER-Yet a moral choice!
Abortion was declared lawful because of the United States fourteenth amendment of due process. The United States Supreme Court ruled that a mother may abort her fetus until it is viable outside the womb or to protect the health of the maternal parent. Further research has found that personhood does not start at conception. American people need to realize hate crimes among those like the most recent shooting death of Dr. Tiller in Wichita, Kansas was a selfless act and one that denies women’s rights. An individual must be given human rights unless its presence hinders with the right of life and liberty of another conscious human being such as that of the mother of the zygote. With this said a fetus does not have rights until post birth for the reasoning clearly stated in an article “Why Abortion is Moral” written by Brian Mckinley “You cannot have two entities with equal rights occupying one body. One will automatically have veto power over the other-and thus they don’t have equal rights” (2008).Many who oppose abortion such as Mr. Masters with Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs are “convinced that the preborn child is a human being” in contrast however, we must look at personhood and when personhood truly begins. A renowned Philosophy Professor Mary Ann Warren wrote many essay’s on the right of abortion. She like others believe that there is certain markers of personhood such as consciousness with the ability to feel pain, self-awareness, self motivation, and reasoning. According to Warren, “A being need not exhibit all of these criteria to qualify as a person with a right to life, but if a being exhibits none of the (or perhaps only one), then it is certainly not a person” (1973).

Just a couple of things to think about:

1. People who are pro-choice do not believe that fetuses are human beings, which means that they will never and can never concede that abortion is homicide. There is a barrier there that will likely never be bridged.

2. There is no such thing as "the abortion industry". Women who get abortions are not out shopping around to find the best price. They are ashamed and scared and have been told by a lot of people they trust that abortion is a safe way out.

Please, just pray for the women who become pregnant when they don't want it. Please offer to adopt unwanted subsequent children. Please stop calling people who get abortions "murderers" because if they honestly thought they were killing a human, believe me when I say that they wouldn't do it.
