If one can't adopt there are some ways to help out those who are going through the process. The cost of adoption is usually a major stumbling block for many, but if everyone pitches it will be much easier for the orphans of the world to find a home.

Reese's Rainbow, Down Syndrome Adoption Ministry, has a program to sponsor a family who is adopting.
Ten For Orphans is an organization that promotes helping the adoption process by suggesting a $10 donation be made once a month. If 2,500 people just donated this amount, then an adoption would be paid for in one month.
