180 The Movie, 40 Days For Life, And Politics

Two of the biggest pro-life events in quite a while are occurring this week.

180 The Movie
First, the documentary 180 was released and is now available on YouTubeDVD, or view below.  It's a compelling look at relating the Holocaust with abortion and how people have changed their minds about abortion.  Ray Comfort, who created the movie, also discusses Christianity with those in the documentary. It is extremely impactful because one can see how the youth are struggling to reconcile their view of the Holocaust with how they argue for abortion.

40 Days For Life
The return of 40 Days For Life starts on Wednesday, September 28th and runs through November 6th.
As you probably know 40 Days For Life is a prayer and peaceful vigil campaign in front of abortion facilities across America and in other countries as well.  The following are documented results from the previous campaigns from the 40 Days For Life site:

During these unified efforts, participants witnessed countless blessings from God:
  • 1,332 individual campaigns have taken place in 387 cities
  • More than 400,000 have joined together in an historic display of unity to pray and fast for an end to abortion
  • More than 13,000 church congregations have participated in the 40 Days for Life campaigns
  • Reports document 4,313 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about
  • 53 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry
  • 16 abortion facilities completely shut down following local 40 Days for Life campaigns
  • Hundreds of women and men have been spared from the tragic effects of abortion, including a lifetime of regrets
  • More than 1,500 news stories have been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio shows and TV programs from coast to coast ... and overseas
  • Many people with past abortion experiences have stepped forward to begin post-abortion healing and recovery
After so many years of legalized abortion, many people of faith are experiencing a renewed sense of HOPE!

Pro-Life And Politics
Obviously, the political season is heating up on both sides of the aisle.  The Republicans are continuing debating but as expected the economy is still front and center.  The pro-life issue can't be relegated to the back burner because if it is that's where it will stay if a Republican is elected.  If Obama is elected his pro-abortion view will be in the forefront because he has already proven that he will fight to the bitter end to keep Planned Parenthood funded with taxpayer dollars.

If you need to read the pro-life views of the Republicans in the race go to my compilation of how they have viewed abortion in the past.  If you encounter a Republican politician on any level who is courting your vote there is a quick way to find out what their views are on the abortion issue.  Ask them if they are pro-choice.  They immediately think that you are and will probably respond with an answer that at least somewhat supports the pro-choice argument.  Since they are so used to pandering to their audience, I doubt few will say they are pro-life without exceptions if this tactic is used.
