3 weeks - Heart begins to pulsate. Foundation for brain, spinal cord, and nervous system. Eyes start to form.
4 weeks - Three parts of the brain are present.
5 weeks - Heartbeat similar to an adult.
6 weeks - Brain begins functioning.
8 weeks - Eyelids and palms of hand sensitive to touch.
9 weeks - Foundation of all anatomical systems has been developed and growth of these occur throughout pregnancy.
11 weeks - Facial expressions similar to parents. Fingernails appear.
13 weeks - He kicks his legs, makes a fist, turns his head, drinks amniotic fluid.
16 weeks - Weight increases 6 times since week 12 and is 8-10 inches tall.
22 weeks - One foot tall and weighs one pound. His sleeping pattern is the same as after his birth.
