Why I Am Passionately Pro-Life

 Why I Am Passionately Pro-Life
By Monte Harms

As the creator of Stand For Life I have had numerous testimonials posted on this site that are often very powerful stories of abortion, being a product of rape, or an abortion survivor.  I have read or watched many moving pro-life men's testimonials that included experiences with a girlfriend's abortion or their deep Christian beliefs that are the root of their pro-life mission.

On occasion I reflect as to why I am so pro-life.  Was there a turning point in my background that set me in this direction?  The answer seems to be as much as what has not happened to me as to what has occurred.  For almost my entire adult life I never had any personal experience with anyone who had an abortion.  I never heard abortion even mentioned in the different churches I attended in the last 30-40 years.  These included a wide variety of Christian churches, but not Catholic.   I wasn't raised in a home where abortion was discussed although there was a basic sense of right and wrong that was instilled in us.

I've come to the conclusion then that the reason I am pro-life is the following:  Abortion Is Wrong.  Period. It's a pretty boring testimony but I always wonder why there aren't more people with my similar background who think abortion is wrong.  Maybe it's because of the way the abortion issue has been framed.  The "pro-choice" crowd seems to always call it a religious issue.  On the other hand, the churches will say it's a political issue, and they don't want to go into that area.  Others will claim that it's already law so there's nothing that can be done.

Possibly there are many people that are strong believers that abortion is wrong but they don't know how to fight the cause.  For years the only pro-life group I knew existed was Right To Life.  Their work seemed to be boring and not getting a whole lot of life-saving results.  A few years ago I just happened to see a story in Focus on the Family's Citizen magazine about the Justice For All exhibit on campuses.  That was it!  Their huge exhibit displayed that abortion is wrong and the staff and volunteers explained why that is in a very civil manner.  Their pro-life training meshed perfectly with my view that abortion is morally wrong.  It is wrong, now here is a way to logically defend that position.  From those experiences on a few campuses, I gradually discovered a vast pro-life world out there of many different organizations with numerous opinions on the best way to have success promoting the pro-life message.  Eventually all of this led to the creation of this site in March of 2008.

What is the root cause of my belief that abortion is wrong.  That moral belief just doesn't pop out of thin air but it along with other morals come from God.  I strongly believe God is the guiding hand in this site and is using me to spread the word that Abortion Is Wrong.  With that said, I believe that Atheists or anybody along the scale of belief in God could and should claim that abortion is wrong just because it is wrong.  Removing the belief in God from the daily life of many people hasn't removed their need for morals to function in society.  These morals are either how they personally live or how they feel society should operate.  Void of God in their lives, you still won't find many who favor murder, spousal abuse, bank robbery, etc.  Once again, where do these consensual beliefs from Atheists, etc. originate?   There has to be a source for what is the right way to live.  These beliefs are not pulled out of the blue, but come from God.

The conclusion is that abortion should be viewed through the same moral lens as other issues, but many Christians address it in the same way that many non-Christians do.  The morality of abortion is sidetracked by different factions who have very self-serving interests.  The issue intentionally gets very clouded and complicated usually by the terminology used by those who want to keep the money flowing.  The abortion providers, politicians, churches, and others distract from the morality of abortion because of the money they feel would be lost if people were exposed to the simple truth of the issue.  That simple truth is that ABORTION IS WRONG.

Guilt of a "w" terrorist by N-What! is an autobiographical publication that shows similarity between abortion and terrorism, abortion clinics and terror organizations, abortion providers and terrorists. In brief, homeland security begins with wombland security.

when out of sight, it is out of mind. If people actually saw a little baby, I think it would be more difficult for them to accept abortion. Many people have been told at clinics that it is only "tissue" that is being removed. But in reality, it is the innocent of all innocence.
