Are Abortionists Giving Out Free Tickets To Heaven?
By Bud Shaver
The late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd recently made a shocking admission "Am I killing? Yes I am. I know that." As shocking as that statement was, he made another statement that I believe to be even more shocking, “I’ll ask that the spirit of this pregnancy returns to God with love and with understanding.” He asks that the spirit of the baby would return to God with love and understanding, however if all the aborted babies that have died since 1973 (over 50 million) automatically just go to heaven then there would be no need to ask God, they simply would naturally return to Him.I have met so many women at abortion clinics and in churches that justify their abortion because they believe, "My baby is in heaven now." While I usually just bite my tongue, I believe that this needs serious re-examination. The Bible never specifically states that all babies go to heaven and there have been debates throughout Church History about what happens to babies that die (i.e. non-elect babies, non-baptized babies, babies of non-believers, babies in "limbo", etc). There is no universally held position regarding the fate of babies after death.
We can not affirm the premise, “All babies go to heaven” and then deny the conclusion that some abortionists and some women have made. Curtis Boyd (who is an ordained Baptist minister) came to the conclusion that he is sending the babies to be with God “with love and understanding”. George Tiller who was an elder of the Reformation Lutheran Church concluded that he had no problem aborting babies in numbers so staggering that it eclipses the population of entire cities. Some women kill their baby because they would rather send their baby to heaven by aborting him/ her than for the baby to live with a debilitating abnormality for their entire life.
The reason that I bring this issue up is that I hope that by addressing this, it will cause some urgency among Christians to peacefully and passionately stand for life. I believe that this mentality is responsible for some of the apathy in the Christian community, the reason some Christians see no need to do anything to end the injustice of abortion. If you have had an abortion, I am not saying that your baby is in hell, I just hope you do not justify your abortion because you, like Curtis Boyd, "Ask that the spirit of this pregnancy returns to God with love and with understanding.”

Thanks, Bud, well put. I have been pointing this out for some while. The idea is propagated by many post abortion counsellors. See http://www.created4life.org/FAQ.html#AbortedToHeaven
