The Holocaust Of The Unborn

Many opinions of issues in our society recently have been influenced by just the words in the title. For example, when the United States Congress couldn't get much support for the financial bailout package, they changed "bailout" to "rescue," which sounded much more palatable. Illegal aliens in America are often called undocumented workers. "Illegal" sounds too harsh, but if they just had the proper documents, they would be fine. Prisoners of war in Guantanamo Bay are called detainees. Terrorists have been described as enemy combatants or even freedom fighters. Liberals in this country now want to be called progressives, because progress has such a nice connotation to it. If you're against anything related to the homosexual lifestyle, you are probably going to be called a homophobe. By describing the down-and-out in our society as homeless, it implies that if they just had a home, everything would be all right.

When the abortion topic is described, the pro-life movement, including yours truly, have let the groups and people supporting abortion define it. The pro-abortion side knows that if they use the word "choice" in describing this, then they have won half the battle. The vast majority of Americans aren't passionate about this issue, so when they hear "choice," then it can't be that bad. Their reaction often is that freedom of choice is the backbone of this country, so those intolerant pro-lifers are trying to limit their right to choose.

How do we counteract this? We have to keep pounding the truth by using the correct language to describe what is occurring. Some will say we are doing the same thing as the other side, but we will not be manipulating the truth behind some pleasant-sounding words. The Holocaust has a specific reaction, and rightfully so. At least six million Jews were killed only because they were Jewish. Approximately 46 million unborn babies in the world are killed every year only because they were unwanted. This worldwide situation could even be described as much worse because of the amount killed, and the unborn never even saw the light of day.

We should now describe the whole issue of abortion as the Holocaust of the unborn. Pro-choice should be called pro-death, pro-extermination, pro-baby killing, or whatever term is appropriate. Why should we let the other side control the issue by not describing it properly? It's time for the pro-life movement to explain publicly what is actually occurring by using the correct language. I think it's appropriate to call ourselves pro-life, but we need to courageously call the other side what they are. This will obviously spawn a reaction that we will need to be ready for, which will prompt us to explain why we label this atrocity the way we do. Even the word "abortion" does not have the impact it should. Maybe we should call it extermination, killing or something similar.

If the pro-lifers control the language of the baby-killing issue, then maybe the world will wake up and realize that we are in the midst of the Holocaust of the unborn.

As a Jew with plenty of relatives who died in the Holocaust, and a few who survived, I am deeply offended by this.
"At least six million Jews were killed only because they were Jewish. Approximately 46 million unborn babies in the world are killed every year only because they were unwanted."
I don't understand the logic. The Holocaust was a result of centuries of anti-Semitism, not because Hitler all of a sudden said, "I feel like gassing the Jews today." When a woman gets an abortion, it's not about race, religion, ethnicity, or anything else. She just doesn't want to go through with a pregnancy. She has nothing against the fetus. Plus, the Jews who perished in the Shoah had friends and family who loved them. The Holocaust didn't just affect the Jews - it affected everyone who cared for them as well. Does a fetus have friends? Hopes? Dreams? Are there Nazis shipping them off to Auschwitz to be worked or starved to death? No. Just, no. No one says, "Ooh! A fetus! Let's kill it!" Abortion is NOTHING like the Holocaust. By the way, Hitler was "pro-life." I liken anti-choicers to Nazi Germany. Hitler believed Aryan women should have as many children as they could. He saw them as little more than baby factories. Anti-choicers think the government should make laws about what a woman can and can't do with HER body. My great-aunt, who survived the Buchenwald concentration camp, first made that connection.
If people are against abortion for religious reasons, which is generally the case, that doesn't mean it should be illegal. America is a democracy, not a theocracy. Just because I'm Jewish doesn't mean I think everyone else should share my beliefs.
Also, not everyone thinks a few-week-old fetus is a baby, a life. Jews believe that life begins at BIRTH, not conception. Anti-choicers always show picturs of cute ALREADY BORN babies or horrific images of aborted fetuses in their propaganda. Few people realize that the aborted fetuses in the pictures aren't even recognizably human unless they're completely magnified - to the naked eye, they wouldn't look any different from normal menstrual blood.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to start my response by stating that I am not anti-semitic. I don't hate or fear the Jews or their faith. My response is not designed to ridicule you either. I respect your right to articulate a pro choice argument. let me correct a few of the assumptions on which your comments are based. "America is a democracy". First of all America IS NOT a democracy nor was it ever established as one. It is in fact a Republic. www.liberty-page.com/cliches/democracy.html.
"The Holocaust was a result of centuries of anti-Semitism". The Holocaust was the result of Hitler and the Nazis organising on an industrial scale the extermination of the jews, not centuries of anti-semitism. To accept your point of view would implicate the whole world and particularly europe in the organisation of the Holocaust. The most important fact which rejects this assertion is the fact that millions and millions of european troops gave their lives during world war two STOPPING Hitler and the Nazis. This dosen't mean that anti-semitism hasn't existed for centuries it undoubtedly has. But so has all forms of religious discrimination.
"Does a fetus have Dreams? " Yes a fetus has dreams. www.leaderu.com/orgs/tul/psychtoday9809.html
"Does a fetus have friends" You BETCHA. It's most important friend is it's father especially if it's mother is pro choice as she is hell bent on KILLING it. I am sure there may be other immediate familly members of the fetus who may yearn for the fetus to be born who would consider themselves friends of the fetus as does every pro life person in the whole world. " Anti-choicers think the government should make laws about what a woman can and can't do with HER body". The pro life people are most concerned about the body of the Fetus and making laws to protect the body of the Fetus. The pro choice woman did not self conceive the child and needed a man's body for the creation of the fetus. `What about his body?
"She has nothing against the fetus". The pro chice woman most certainly has something against the Fetus, she is hell bent on KILLING it for whatever reason. "Abortion is NOTHING like the Holocaust" As a pro life person I happen to agree with your point here for the completely opposite reason. 46 million abortions every year compared to 6 million murdered Jews during the Holocaust is a much worst attrocity if you believe as I do that life begins before birth.

I hope you can embrace the point of view that I am articulating.

Yours sincerely,

Anonymous.
